About Theolog
Welcome to Theolog, the online community of the Christian Century, a biweekly journal of news, commentary and opinion. At the Century we believe that the Christian faith calls Christians to a profound engagement with the world. We think Christians can and must articulate their faith in a way that is meaningful and intellectually compelling to those around them.
Like other magazines, ours is a community. Century readers are not passive recipients of information; they argue about what they read in the Christian Century, pass on copies to friends, sometimes cut out clippings to share. Some readers send us letters to the editor, taking issue with something we’ve published or highlighting articles that inspired them. We are glad to publish many of these letters in the magazine, sometimes with a reply from the author, but it’s a slow-motion conversation.
Theolog will allow conversation between writers and readers to take place at the speed of the Internet. Athough some of this conversation will be in response to articles in the magazine, Theolog will also offer original material—material that does not appear in the magazine or on the Century’s Web site.
With this venture, we hope to learn from readers and give them a new venue in which to learn from one another. We hope this page will be a site of midrashic conversation, as we seek to “think critically and live faithfully”—together.
To contact us, email theolog [at] christiancentury.org.
