Tonight at sunset marks the start of Rosh Hashanah. In honor of the Jewish High Holy Days, here’s a fascinating video clip about a sabbath service held by U.S. soldiers near the front line in Germany in 1944 and broadcast on American radio—the first Jewish service broadcast from Germany since Hitler’s rise to power:
